Circular Needles

$35.00

Our circular knitting needles employ our patented hexagonal shape you have come to love in our single and double point needles. The all Michigan made stainless steel, nickel free, connector allows the sturdy yet supple cord to swivel and rotate smoothly preventing any twisting of your knitting. The join is perfectly smooth and your fiber will not catch or snag as it transitions from the cord, over the connector, to the needle. The needles are hand sanded and polished to a smooth finish with 100% natural beeswax providing a most pleasurable knitting experience.

Our circular needles are available in US Sizes 2 through US Size 15. The needle barrel length on our 16”circular is 3.5” long. Barrel length on 24”, 32” and 40” circular needles comes in a standard 4” length. We measure our circular needles from needle tip to needle tip. Custom orders are available on your needle barrel and cord lengths. Please allow for extra time for processing custom orders as we handcraft all of our knitting needles and products.

Wood Options & Characteristics

We handcraft our hexagonal knitting needles using three sustainable North American hardwoods; walnut, cherry and maple. The maple is the lightest in color, the strongest, and when we hand sand the needles, because of the dense wood grain, it polishes up to be the slickest of the three woods. The maple will never be as slick as a metal needle and the hexagonal shape keeps the stitches where you want them to be. The cherry wood is a medium honey color and is the middle range of slickness, and the walnut is the darkest color, chocolate like, and has the most grab. All three woods are smooth and the differences are fairly minor. The size 2 is our smallest size and we can only make the size 2’s in the maple wood. Sizes 3, 4 and 5 we make in maple and cherry, and the size 6 and larger we can add in the walnut. We use 100% natural Michigan beeswax to condition the wood during the sanding process. There are no laminates or toxic finishes.
